My freelance editor resume includes:

Key Expertise:

Narrative creation & storytelling

Video production & self-shooting skills

Editing a wide range of content durations from 10 sec through to 120 min broadcast programmes

Avid Media Composer & Symphony

Multi-camera workflow

Project and stakeholder management

Delivery focused

Career Highlights:

Working as a freelancer videographer I was commissioned to film and 3 x 90-minute stage performances for the London School of Musical Theatre. Filming in UHD on my own with six cameras I then edited the multi-camera performances using Avid Media Composer to best follow the cast performances and storyline. As the project was for HD delivery I was able to adjust the raster size of each UHD shot for best framing. The three colour graded sign-off films were delivered within a four-week schedule to meet the timetables streaming dates.

The Koestler Trust charity required further funding and increased promotion for their ‘Arts for Offenders’ mentoring project. Engaged as filmmaker and video editor to produce a 20-minute documentary exploring the project, illustrated with a series of powerful case studies. Met project team to establish plan/timetable; liaised with CEO to manage sensitive disclosure /access issues; filmed contributors across UK locations including HMP Lewes; and utilised creative editing skills to capture and communicate an engaging story. Succeeded in delivering a powerful film, enabling future funding for the Koestler Trust.

A leading creative marketing agency was required to deliver a short film for a premium drinks brand. Engaged as a freelance video editor to manage an evolving brief, following a problematic filming schedule. Edited film from camera footage and no script; searched contributors ‘sync’ to build a story; edited 4 days of filming into 3 minutes; sourced production music tracks and painted edit with cutaways and action shots; and delivered the final film for approval by creative and client team. Succeeded in delivering challenging final edit on time and within budget.

The BBC required editing skills for 8 x 25-minute special programmes filmed at international locations. Requested by production as the video editor to deliver a dynamic and engaging edit to BBC broadcast technical standards. Liaised with production teams to understand narrative requirements; reviewed script and studied raw footage; selected high music content to appeal to the target audience; and delivered to editorial guidelines. I succeeded in delivering a series of high-quality programmes.
